Quarter Life Crisis!

The year 2016 is coming to an end and I am sure there are a lot of us gearing up for Christmas singing “Single Bell Single Bell, Single all the way”. In this era of relationships gaining so much of attention, turning 25 is a major checkpoint in our lives. Both, in terms of how we have fared in our personal and professional lives, which I think need to be balanced. In this post, I am going to stick to the personal life.

Well, turning 25 makes you wonder about what age do you want to get married at and there is a lot of hogwash on the internet on what is the right age or the right time to get married. Also, something interesting to notice is that your relationship status is taken as a marker for evaluating your life. Which, again is the height of stupidity. I really wonder why staying single is somehow quite underrated. I don’t see why a person’s relationship status needs to be a parameter to measure the value of one’s life. Relationships should be a choice and not an obligation.

There is so much more to you than just your relationship status. Don’t let your relationship status define who you are. Trust me on this even if you collate all the happenings of your life till today, who you are is so much more than that. Don’t let yourself be fit into the moulds of conventionality.  Be your own version of whoever you want to be. If you do get into a relationship and it doesn’t work out, It’s hard to recover from I agree. But, there are a lot of things you can do with your life apart from having a girlfriend/boyfriend. Also, relationships are seen today with such a narrow perspective. A boy and a girl can only bond in two major categories. The family friend category or the life partner category. Since these are widely accepted in society. We usually try to fit all our relationships into these two categories and try to make the ends meet. But doing so at times only destroys the relationship.   Let’s just try to see relationships as they are and try not to stretch them just to fit them into a certain category. let's just look at relationships for what they are and not what we want them to be. There are so many ways in which you can connect with someone. Maybe in terms of having similar literature interests, may be having the same taste of music, maybe someone to talk to when you’re facing a problem.

Even if you wish to stay alone and you want to make something out of your life, I am sure that is again a great way of handling your life. Set your dreams. Chase them. Feel the passion of doing something you absolutely love. Explore your talents, hobbies. The best part being the way you get to know who are. What is it that you love. For the movie/serial fanatics(including me), movies or serials are never "just movies" or "just serials" to you. Absorbing certain thoughts from the favourite characters of your favourite movies or serials. Build yourself on such pillars and you’re sure to make a skyscraper out of yourself.

No matter which of the above paths you choose, all these paths have something incredible to offer to you.So this Christmas irrespective of you wanting a life partner, or a relationship or just rediscover yourself, add value to yourself and your life. Here’s me wishing all of you a very peaceful and healthy Christmas. May each one of your wishes be fulfilled. SPIRIT!

The Extrovert City!!

It is 2:58 am and I am starting to write something. Bangalore, commonly known as "The Garden City of India " or as we call it "Silicon City" . Like anyone who comes to Bangalore from a tier 2 city, I was pretty much excited to explore it.  It was overwhelming what this city has to offer to each of its residents. I feel everyone here is running behind something or the other. Be it money, dream job, love, parties or any other goals you have. Bangalore has it all. The Lush Green parks, the malls, the posh restaurants, the road transport services, the really affordable restaurants (Vidyarthi Bhavan – do go there once), the nearby site seeing places, the humongous tech parks, one of the best research universities in the country, the IT companies. The best thing I like about Bangalore is that anyone from any part of India can come to Bangalore and they would feel at home. Bangalore doesn't differentiate you based on your caste, creed and colour. It accepts you the way you are. To me, this city is one of those which I feel is representative of India. Nevertheless, it doesn't allow you stay stagnant. It drives you towards everything you wanted to achieve and makes it seem possible. It makes you toil for what you want and does give you the rewards.

It does have a hell lot of traffic but you also find really interesting people with whom you can have the most candid conversations. Bangalore offers the best of everything that India has is what I've felt so far and I hope it gets only better from here on. This is what we all have heard of. But yeah there are people here who work the same number of hours on weekdays as we do and volunteer for NGO's on the weekends. The days we just like to sleep and feel lazy at our homes there are people who use that to make this society better. There are people who pursue their hobbies on weekends. While we are complaining about traffic there is "traffic warden organisation" which voluntarily helps police to manage traffic. This city continues to surprise me with everything it has got.

This post is particularly dedicated to one issue I found to be really immature. After coming here I was accused of being a non-Kannadiga because I like to talk to people in different languages. Let me cut to the chase here. The so-called true Kannadigas feel that the enormous diversity of this city is affecting our culture or rather spoiling it in terms of the number of people talking in Kannada being reduced compared to before, which they think is only going to get worse. We hold the people who come from other states responsible for this. But how is that possible? Who is to be blamed? It's us. If you are not speaking Kannada or if there is a reason because of which you have stopped speaking Kannada or even reduced speaking Kannada then it's your fault. Personally, I don't mind using less of Kannada if I have to talk to a lot of people, who do not speak Kannada for whatever reason. I am sure that doesn't make me any less of a Kannadiga. Let's also remember something, everyone who resides in India has been given the right by our constitution to speak any language , practice any religion irrespective of where they stay in India. So when we almost force someone to learn Kannada aren't we going against our constitution? Protecting the Kannada language is our responsibility and not theirs. Just because people in xyz force the people from other states to speak their language doesn't mean we should do the same too. Bangalore has always been impartial to everyone and I hope we don't spoil this balance. When it comes to our language it's our responsibility to preserve it. Let's get some perspective here. What is language? A way of communicating with someone. That is all you need to understand. If you want to communicate with someone then simple logic tells you that you talk to them in a language that you both comfortably know or else the message will not be clear and lead to misunderstanding. Get it right through your head that, just as speaking English doesn't make you British, speaking less of Kannada doesn't make you a non-Kannadiga. Speaking a language and respecting it are two entirely different things. What we should do is try to awaken the respect for Kannada and not just mere usage of the language. If people respect it then I am sure Kannada will never be an  endangered language. On the contrary, if you get people to speak the language then it certainly does not guarantee respect for it. It is not something you display it is something you hold dear to your heart! One more thing, please don't generalise a certain event that happened to you because of some idiot to the community or region or any other parameter that he or she has. I have never come across anyone who disrespected me or my culture in any way and even if I do I am sure I will associate that to the personality and not the place or religion or any other irrelevant factor. There are a lot of pages and people on facebook right now who post stuff that are outrageous. I hope that we don't fall prey to them. Let's promote peace and not develop outrage among people. I hope in these hard times where there is a lot of polarisation we find that one string that holds us all together.

To end it, I wish every city is as hospitable as Bangalore where everyone can live the way they want to without really encroaching into someone else's circle of privacy!

!!! Happy New Year!!!!

It’s time for new year celebrations! Everyone is planning to embrace the new year by partying with their girlfriends, best friends, bffs etc. It’s like partying is in the air. As I sit in my room and go what the hell,  while the whole world parties I am clouded by thoughts. May be you don’t have a girlfriend, a best friend or even a friend . May be you’re still figuring out what is it that you love doing. May be you’re still struggling with your career and you don’t have time for a party. May be you have enough savings but you don’t have a holiday for new year celebration. It’s all okay! We allow ourselves to be influenced by so many lives around and thanks to fb for this, we do feel our life is not rocking as we think others is.

Don’t have time? Just sit with your loved ones when possible and spend some quality time. Don’t have money for a huge rocking party? Have a panipuri competition with your friends. May be you don’t have a high profile top notch job but as long as you’re working on something with passion you have nothing to worry about my dear friend. May be you don’t necessarily need a friend to be happy. Rediscover yourself and do something that you genuinely enjoy. May be you have a dream that you want to work on. May be you’ve cleaned the slate of your career and have started fresh. Be happy about it. May be you have the most trustworthy friends in the world. May be this year wasn’t as per your “plan”. That doesn’t mean the consequent years will follow the same pattern. This new year let’s celebrate with hope.

  • Hope that the coming year gets you closer to your dreams.
  • Hope that you get the appraisal for which you have been working your ass off!
  • Hope that you may find the peace of mind you’ve been chasing all year.
  • Hope that you find love.
  • Hope that you find a trustworthy friend.
  • Hope that you find the passion for which you’ve been switching your jobs.
  • Hope everything starts to fall in place in the years to come .

No matter whatever wherever and however you are , you deserve to be happy my friend. If sleeping the whole day makes you happy go for it. Whatever makes you happy do it. Just don’t materialize happiness. This new year be happy irrespective of what you have or what you don’t have. You have everything that is needed for happiness to prosper in your life. So here’s to a lousy Christmas and a crappy new year(For die hard F.R.I.E.N.D.S fans only). For the rest of the world, pour the wine of hope and dance yourselves out to the rhythm of life! SPIRIT!

The Angry Young Citizen

Has god given us a third eye that has the capacity to see inside a person and figure them out in a second? We are the judgmental folk! We are like two-minute judges. We have a look at someone and somehow our nth sense tells us something about them. Trust me , Sherlock Holmes would go nuts if he looked at our deductions. I don't think I have seen people meet casually anymore. It's like everyone has a board on their head. There is man board. There is woman board and there are people, whom we don't even consider as part of the so-called prestigious social behavioural bible – "The Society" by Anonymous. We don't understand human beings anymore. We understand the man. The woman. The homosexual. It's like we are scanned for the gender first and then there is this way of behaving like/with a particular gender. I see people in their mid-twenties fighting this classic Man vs Woman like a WWE wrestling match telecast on Monday nights. I'm like isn't it obvious! With every gender comes its baggage of challenges. Just for the record every person in this world has an equal share of problems, be it man or woman. I think any conversation that comes down to man vs woman should be stopped immediately. Because, if they wanted to understand that every gender has its problems, they would have done it already.

Language : Now what can I say about this. For all those who think that , if you belong to a particular community/region , then you're supposed to know its language. Language is just a medium of communication. If you want to be a loner, please don't learn any languages. Only in the most remote possibility of you talking to someone, you can use the language that you know. Looking at it logically if you live in north Karnataka, then you need to know the North Karnataka version of Kannada. If you live in Karnataka, then you need to know proper Kannada. If you live in India, then you need to know Hindi. It's Bullshit, or repurposed bovine waste and for your information, both mean the same. You live on Earth first, learn Humanity for God's Sake. Humanity is the universal language that everyone understands (Not offending people who think music is a universal language too. I agree with you guys). You can live anywhere in the world if you know Humanity and that should be the first language we should learn.

God: Nothing beats this. The world is mainly divided between atheists and theists. Both fight with each other to convince that they are right. If you're an atheist ,fine. If you're not, fine . But if you're an atheist, learn to respect someone's belief in God and the vice versa. Not everyone in this world needs to be on the same page.

Profession: There was a recent incident, where I had a debate with a person who thinks his/her profession is really hard and has major issues with respect to the payment because he/she thinks that their profession is the only one which is going through rough patches. Where on earth do such beings emerge on Earth? Every profession is respectable. I feel if you can't respect someone else's profession you can never give justice to yours. Moreover , it's the dedication that you show towards your profession ,that is valued and not merely the profession itself.

Movies: Oh the epitome of regionalism and communalism. Let me explain this taking three recent really successful movies Rangitaranga,  Bahubali and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. All these three movies are absolutely exceptional in their own genre. But let's see how we Indians saw these movies. Bahubali collected the most money out of box office. While, bajrangi bhaijaan had its go at box office collections. We start quantifying movies based on their mere collection at box office. What does this say about us? People who have Kannada as their mother tongue supported Rangitaranga . Those with telugu as their mother tongue supported  Bahubali. Those who knew the national language Hindi, supported Bajrangi Bhaijaan . To which extent it was fine, although I will tell you what's wrong it in shortly, but the real disaster starts when we compare Bahubali Vs Rangitaranga Vs Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Which I definitely feel is uncalled for here. Why do we always need to race everything and derive just one and only one winner out of it? Why can't these three movies just be three fucking great movies? Now ,don't you think hypothetically ,if I being a kannadiga , watch only kannada movies that means I am seriously biassed  towards my language? We should support every language, irrespective of who we are or which city or region we belong to. For those who play "My language is my mother" card. Here's something "Every child thinks his/her mother is the best". Yes metaphorically you love your mother, but it's equally important to respect someone else's mother too. Mothers are all the best and the same.  If you want to watch a movie then the only things to consider should be the script, the screenplay, direction, music and these technical aspects. If you understand the language in which movie was made, fine ,or else please refrain from watching movies. There is a need for "Language Neutrality " when it comes to movies. I think you guys would certainly agree with me on this. Hate only gives rise to hate. While love trumps hate.

I don't see the unity in diversity that we Indians boast about ourselves. All I see is more diversity in diversity. We need to come to a matured understanding of each other's differences and live in harmony. We need to understand that, it's not about being on the same page, but rather, being in the same book sometimes too. If you can't love something, at least don't develop hatred towards it. We really need to unite for humanity to prosper!

Humanism 2!

While, I did highlight the injustice taking place on women in my previous post, I believe its time to throw light on the other side of the coin too. Man, a term used mostly for expression of power. Man, the guy who saves the actress in all the movies. Man, the keeper of power. Man, someone who does not cry. Man, someone who knows how to get things done by the use of his power. Man, someone who enjoys sexual activity even if he has not consented it. These are all the common beliefs of society with respect to men.

Male rape. How can a man be raped? The famous "Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota". Our society is weirdly interesting. If a boy gets beaten up , he's not a man at all. As sad as I am speaking to you about this , it is true. Until February 3 2013 , rape was considered a crime only on women. So men who were raped before that must have seen worse than hell on earth already. Male on male rapes constitute 93 % of male rape cases . Which is as shocking and saddening as it gets. While , a minority of 7 % male rapes are female on male rapes. It's surprising that out of every 10 male rape cases only 1 is reported. In fact, in most of the male rape cases , the victim is asked to forget it calling it a "fight". Males have the added burden of facing a society that doesn't believe rape can happen to them. Especially , when it's a female on male rape the common opinion is "He's a man, he must be enjoying that". Although, the survival rate of female rape victims in less, compared to male rape victim. A popular movie, released  in 2014,  was made on the basis of a plot to trap a boy for money on the basis of IPC section 498A. I did not hear a single person speaking about it. In fact, the film made a collection of 24.3 crores. The number of reported male rape cases are drastically low compared to female rape cases.

To tell you a fact, I myself went through physical violence in my school days by my seniors when I was in 4th standard because I wasn't aggressive like other boys or never believed in reciprocating violence. During my Engg college's intro session by my seniors ,I was asked about my marks in Mathematics ,which happened to be 64 and the response I received from them was "so you only chased girls during your PUC 2" .

Being a human basically is difficult these days. It's Humanity that is endangered. If we don't do anything about it soon, then humanity will go extinct. Lets set our gender biases aside and save Humanity together. All you need to be his human to stand up for a human. #Humanism

HUMANISM!

We all are dealing with issues today in the world, and here is one that I would be highlighting today. Feminism is a term that may seem simple and has very clear meaning ,but is often misinterpreted by people at large. Feminism is the advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes. Equality is what is emphasized upon . So, please note that there is nothing to be afraid about here. The point that feminism is not synonymous to man hating is crucial part of understanding feminism.  It just means that have the guts to stand for equality. So, if you are a feminist ,no matter who you are just be proud of yourself because you stand for equality.

I believe that it's one's personal choice to decide how they want to lead their personal life. It's a woman's choice how she wants to lead her life , same way how a man chooses to do so. All that is resulting out of this is more difference of opinions between genders. The way world should see it is ,if any human is subjected to injustice, you don't need to judge the gender to fight for the person's justice. What I mean by this is , say someone named ABC undergoes a physical assault by XYZ group or person , it should be irrelevant ,if ABC belongs to this religion or that gender or any other parameter by which we stereotype people.

When a woman says "I can wear whatever I want', what she means is that, her way of dressing should in no way be judged to what kind of person she is , and that no limitation should be exercised on her. To give you an example, when we hear quotes like " you can be whatever you want to be" , logically we can become a terrorist ,or a social worker . But, the way we interpret it is that we can become anything good that we want to be. Every statement, logically has two sides .The maturity to take up the positive in any statement is needed the most in such times, instead of pointing fingers at each other. Why this point is being stressed is because in the crimes against a woman, the cause of the crime is interpreted that, the way in which a woman dresses has been associated to her character. This is bizarre. When a woman says that she can be involved in a physical relationship with anyone, it only means that she reserves the right to trust anyone with her body and soul. For example, in the nirbhaya case, most of the causes given as analysed by many for the horrendous act were that she was roaming in the night wearing modern clothes and she was with a boy who happened to be her friend. We have no right to judge a person, by what time they go out or what what they wear or with whom they go out.  Whereas, the original cause was the inhuman mindset of some men.

Even if we somehow understand feminism we are afraid to come out of the traditional Indian closet. When we say feminism, the way I want everyone to see it is, a subset of society. If a particular subset of society ,being deprived of the rights and privileges that are enjoyed by the rest of the society, I believe, it's the responsibility of society at large to stand up for the equality of the particular subset. I call this "Humanism"(Please do not google this word.... it's a term I use only in this post). We judge people by their gender, clothes, religion and God knows what else. For a change, see a person as a person. All you need to be is "HUMAN" to stand for a human's rights. Finally to wrap up things , a pinch of sorcery from Daniel Radcliffe a.k.a Harry Potter - " I'm a feminist as much as I'm an egalitarian about everything and I believe in meritocracy. I think anyone who isn't at this point is swimming against the tide, just like people who are vaguely homophobic or racist or sexist". #Humanism

The Deadliest Phobia?

Boyfriends, girlfriends, best friends, best friends forever and the latest, fractions of these roles. The most riveting topics among youth. We all have people in our lives to whom we say our "i love yous”   our "i will always be there for yous" our "you're the closest one to my hearts", " i care for yous" and the list is interminable. We all have at least one person in our life with whom we share all that happens with us. We use all the above mentioned sweet gratifying sentences to let them know how poignant they are in our lives. It all seems like it’s going to last forever and ever.

It’s after this that the real problem arises. COMMITMENT! When I say commitment let me make myself clear that it’s not just about boyfriend-girlfriend relationship. Commitment is just being able to walk the talk. If you can stay by the words you have spoken, that is commitment. Commitment to most these days appears to be the ghost that haunts their minds. When it comes to commitment I see four kinds of people. Firstly those who really love it, who are just waiting to say something and stand by it. Secondly those who get into commitments only if it’s in their comfort zone. Third, those who are scared, so scared to open their mouth because they might have to stand by what they've  said. Finally , the rare ones who never say anything. But all they think of is goodness of their loved ones and do far more than what they ever say.

It doesn't matter if you belong to any of the above four species. You will have the fear of not being able to stand by it. Hurting someone. Loosing trust. Which results in self-deprecating yourselves. As much as I hate to admit it, even I couldn't keep some promises. Couldn't stand on some words I spoke to someone. Now that is what I call “Human”. We are not robots and we happen to be erroneous at times.  Does that mean we should stop making commitments? I am sure your answer in unison would be no.

Commitments tell us who we are. But, failing to keep them sheds the light on the fact that “We Are Humans”. Also, the more you want to obviate something, the more it claws right back into your life. At the same time taking it too lightly might spifflicate someone’s life way out of proportions. I am sure many of you might see commitments synonymous to pressure. But, the truth is it was made so that human life could revolve around it. If you happen to break a commitment to someone, it’s not the end. You can still earn back the feeling that the person had for you. Not that it’s easy but not impossible either. It wouldn't hurt us to forgive someone if the person truly deserves it.

Even if you screw up, don’t give up. I recall a line from Harry Potter movies – “Help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who ask for it”. I have my own version of this applied to life “Second chance in life will always be given to those who undoubtedly deserve it”. So just make sure you are deserving and wait for your chance. Finally, my message to everyone this New Year is to find it in ourselves the finesse to stand by your commitments. Don't avoid it, instead embrace it and I am sure by doing so you will be able to rejuvenate the human inside you.

The Magic in our stars!!!!

Well the last time I had started writing, it was a because of a person. Finally as I am resuming it now I guess after two years, it’s because of a person. I will be using the word person for the one I want to talk about in this post. It really amazes me when I look at the impact the person who made me start writing again, has on me and my life. The person is seriously one of the most simple-minded person. I think this person has changed three magical words in my life from I love you to “M Gud Le :-)”. The smiley at the end really tells one thing about her. She’s got to have the patience of a rock to type it that way compared to an emoticon that takes just one push of a key. You know sometimes there are these casual moments and later in your life when you think about them, they really were the “Dear Diary Moments”.

Well our first time conversation was funny and interesting at the same time. The words I spoke were “Where is the something Class?” and the answer was simple from the person as well. We never talked thereafter. One day I was just entering one of our mutual friend’s room. My mutual friend and that person were talking to each other on phone, when suddenly my mutual friend said “That person says hi to you”. I was like “is the person nuts?” Why in hell would anyone care about me being in that room. That was one instance I felt there’s something special about this person as this was the first time and incident like this ever happened in my life. It so happens that sometimes you’re in the moment, a really special one and you say something without understanding its consequences. It was a promise i made. Probably one of the biggest in my life . But surprisingly those were one of the best words I ever spoke. I am damn sure the person remembers them. I've never been so happy about  using the power of speech.

Our first hangout was through our mutual friends. We had been to a lake and I was just thinking about how we are together and someday we’ll just drift off like autumn leaves that are blown away by wind. Everyone said why do you get so serious?. But this person said go on I am listening. I still remember that the first piece of writing I ever wrote was for this person. But what impressed me more than that is what it meant to the person. The person still has it well preserved. This person is the only one who knows what I have dreamt about my marriage.

Well, it so that happened that one day I really had this bad dream in which I saw this person getting harmed. Well people usually let it go. But I always was, still am and will always be an emotional fool. So we went to church and sat there just praying for the person. Before this incident I truly never believed in prayers. I believe that is what keeps me human. The most incredible thing came from this person when the person told me that we both dreamt about making preparations together for my elder sister’s marriage. By far this person happens to be the only one who told me that and I guess may be the only one ever. Yes I am meticulous and yeah I don’t really believe in doing something big but really starting with sweet things.

Being a superhero fan I remember these lines and I quote "He's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark Knight." The person is like this to me. I never thought we would be best friends. The person doesn't talk to me all the time or daily. I don't even get time to spend with the person. But I know the person is there with me, all the tine.  We are each other's dark Knights. We watch each other's backs. This person truly taught me that togetherness was not messaging each other daily. Or calling each other frequently. I always wondered how literature comes to me. I guess it just does. Well here is something I wrote for the person "You came as a hope and became my faith". The person truly stands for this, Truly, together there is nothing that we cannot achieve. Yes I have an indestructible horcrux(for those die hard harry potter fans) of mine in the person and the person's in me. We live really far from each other and yet you never seemed closer to me. You are one of the very few people who inspires me.

Being with this person seems morning and the person's absence feels like night. Times will always try to drift us apart. But, you will always be close to my heart. Love you friendoo.

P.S: Just hold my hand and we could walk through the jungle of darkness with togetherness as the ray of light.

A LESSON FINALLY LEARNT!

Sometimes very small incidents change our life by a huge extent. Well it was just yesterday and i was still in my “haven’t got a single call from a company” mode. It was evening and i had been to the nearby lake just to feel better. Luckily i had a camera and was taking some snaps of birds there. I had finished it and suddenly i heard someone saying hi. I turned around to find out that it was my lecturer who taught me CAD in the first year of my engineering. He casually asked me how are you doing? I told him that many of my friends are placed in multiple companies and i haven’t attended a single interview yet! He said you’re spending great quality time . I saw you taking snaps and how involved you were in it! You know something its not easy . Youth today loose their hopes over pretty small things even when they have so many opportunities. I’m glad you were enjoying your time.

Placement , something that makes a student believe himself and also standardizes his ability. As depressed i was of not having heard from a single company i stopped living life. Life just went on the way  it could probably go. I started becoming isolated and far from everyone. No new clothes , no buying anything new. Finally i started doubting myself and my  abilities. The hurricane of not being placed hit me and hit me real hard! I was shredded into pieces. I  even stopped talking . All my friends wondered what’s with me because i was always a blabbermouth. Well life seemed to have driven me into oblivion.

Coming back to the evening at the lake, i wondered what he told me about and it lead to the inception of a  series of thoughts in my mind!  I know placement or even attending recruitment programmes builds a lot of confidence in you. But it doesn’t mean that you cannot succeed if you you’re not placed! I’m not saying that we all can be Narayan Murthy , but becoming ourselves is the greatest thing that could happen for us . The greatest person we can ever become is ourselves. That’s when i felt that without drawing and writing my life would’ve been so pale. There’s so much to life than just success or failure. All we have to remember is to keep trying. Life is to enjoy! Doing what you love the most. So whenever you face failure, draw someone’s portrait! Help someone find their moment of success! Write something that comes to your mind! Feel the chilled breeze in the evenings breath it in and feel the love in it sent by someone somewhere in this world. When it rains get wet in rain, get your clothes dirty! Hangout with your loved ones! You’ve got just one life ! Live it like never before. Don’t spoil it because of someone or something. Life is a gift to be enjoyed not to be sad upon. Nothing heals wounds the way  time does. Just keep yourself interested in something and you’ll transcend through any phase of your life! Celebrate success and failure equally!

We all come across such people in our lives who although, are not close to us impact our lives to a great extent! Help us realize what we are. All we have to do keep our eyes wide open to everything that we come across in our lives and we’ll surely have our share of sparkling moments of our lives! Cheers to life! Cheers to the greatest gift of God!

Technology - The Dirty Picture!

Well  what’s gonna follow this line is something serious that we have been too negligent to notice or say too self centered to be bothered about .

In today’s world we say technology is the crown of science and I don’t deny it but has technology really been able to improve lives ? Yes it has, but in gaining something new we’ve not been keen enough to track what it has taken away from us. Let me start with these social networking websites. I completely agree that social media has increased our social quotient but these are shallow waters. Let me take you the darker depths of it. Say I have a girlfriend and I say that I love her, she may read the word love but can she read how many feelings are hidden behind that single word? Can we quantify feelings ? the truth being we do it and why just because everyone does it. Is it possible for me tell my girlfriend how much I love her just through this texting? Love is just supposed be read in the eyes. Say my girlfriend is very beautiful can I even notice her beauty? Is it possible to console a person emotionally on these sites with images etc? And the most ridiculous flaw I found in social networking websites is if you update your status saying you’re sad, people like it!!!! Isn’t it the height of stupidity? But we are the “move on” generation no matter what happens we move on. Is this the society we wanna leave for our future inhabitants of this earth?

We call ourselves the so called “engineers” with great pride yet we design technologies that harm birds and various other living organisms and the worst of it we know all this but we still do it! We create such blunder mistakes and then find some irregularities in government and we protest! We accept things very easily without even analyzing them. We demand equality when we ourselves don’t practice it when we claim ourselves as the superior beings and we encroach everything from the rightful inheritors of the earth and still ironically wear t shirts saying “Being Human”. Our standard of life is increasing but, the quality of our life is falling and yet we say we’re progressing. Man being known for his intelligence isn’t able to conceive this simple idea and rectify it. I agree we have to earn our daily bread but its better to be hungry than to  snatch something from others, fill your stomach with it and behave like its completely right.Morals are falling apart. Isn't it the sign of a tornado that is ripping our society apart ! Cellphones result in insomnia and various other sleep related problems!

Coming to the development of a child, in this era where children spend most of their time in digital world which takes them equally far from the real social world. Development of a child is always incomplete without socialization but that is absolutely missing these days! We are drenched in Technology for most of the things in our life. Can you capture the happiest moments of your life in some pics? Superficially yes,but can an image show a heart blooming like a flower filled with ecstasy? Man has just started an age where there is quantification of everything .why do we find people updating sad statuses? Its just because they dont have anyone to hold their hand and tell them " Don't worry no matter what comes in your way, we'll face it together".

Why do we depend on technology where it isn’t needed? Instead of saying hi to my friend on social networks who lives in my neighborhood why can’t I go to him directly and spend some quality time with him? I am not someone who opposes technology! Man has made technology not the vice versa .Technology is a boon to humans if its used in the way it is supposed to be! But humanity is just not matured enough to handle such immense power. All i wish is that we don’t let it become a curse!technology isn't bad but the way man uses it gives an ugly picture of it! Change isn't needed in technology but in our minds and hearts! Its in our hands now as the present of our nation to decide what’s right and what’s wrong. Its time to redefine progress and restore the imbalance!WITH GREAT POWER COMES GREAT RESPONSIBILITY!SPIRIT!

LOVE - REDEFINED!

LOVE – we all are hit by this storm one or the other day. Even I had my share of love that I was gifted from GOD!

She joined my school in eighth standard. She was kind of an introvert from the first day that I noticed her. Although I did notice her but had never imagined that she would become so special  one day. I hardly used to talk to her and hardly paid any attention to her. She was just one among my classmates for me. Slowly and steadily we caught each others eyes staring at us and I used to hate it when any girl stares at me. We eventually became good friends over the period of time.  Finally we stepped into 10th standard and she was the most easily accessible person to me. School days ended and we both separated and I was all cool with it as if nothing’s going to change. But slowly I did feel her absence. Also, my best friend hated her. He never liked her and told me to be away from her.

Then came PUC 1st year and also with it came the pressure to improve as it was the crossroad to our career. We started being together most of the time. There was something about her that instigated me to know her better. I was always spotted with her in college and I became known to people because I was her good friend. I loved spending time with her and knowing her better. We used to talk with each other most of the times. On the other hand  I was  failing in mathematics. As per my tuition records I had scored 12 out of hundred in my exams which scared the hell out of my mom and she was really worried if I could even pass the exams. My maths lecturer in my tuitions had told me that I’ll surely not pass in the board exams but it was time to subvert the paradigm that anyone who scores 12 can’t score thirty five in finals.  For this to happen I had to focus completely on maths and it was truly the most challenging time of my life I thought during that phase. I started coping up with the subject and she and I would be with each other after twelve thirty. I used to stay awake late for her and she used to be awake for me. Thank GOD I finally made 64 out of 100 in my final exams and all the credit goes to these three persons my college teacher -Christopher  sir, mom and my best friend Kiran Chikaparappa.  Everyone at my home was delighted when they got to know my marks but it also marked the end of being with her as my parents thought that she was the reason that I was not doing good with studies  but for me,she was the reason I was studying.

Well it was time to decide about my career and no matter how much my dad forced me I chose a career in which she would be with me. It was third semester and one of my favorite lecturer’s class when “one flash  and I lost my heart to her  forever”. This was the moment I realized that it was love that kept us together no matter what the situations were. “I fell in love with her “. Twenty four hours seemed so less. Love was in the air. I didn’t realize days and nights . There were only two phases of time for me now, one in which she was with me and the one in which she wasn’t.  Sleep, food , nothing interested me other than being with her.

I’m sure you all are very excited to know who she is? She is my sweetheart  my VISION of doing something that I wanted to with her. She is my branch of engineering biotechnology . Let me explain everything now as I’m sure you all are shocked at the previous sentence. Biology was introduced as a separate section from eighth standard! I took PCMB combination in my PUC. Staring at her meant reading her during class hours when the subject was taught. Being with her meant  studying her. I used to study biology after twelve thirty in the night so that my other subjects weren’t disturbed. A lot of you would disagree with me saying, how can you love an idea? Well, Swami Vivekananda loved a VISION!  I feel this was the reason I was born. To be the guardian of this vision. Some of you would say have I gone mad and I’d say yes I believe “if you’re not mad about something you can’t achieve anything apart from the ordinary”. She’s more of an immortal lover to me. She isn’t human which makes her so better. But I never saw her as a subject.  She always is and will always  mean something more than just a subject to me. She’s the very reason the so called “use for nothing Amith “ became someone whom anyone would think once before saying something to me. She made me what I am today . She’s my life turner . She’s the very reason I breath today. She’s few of those who never gave up on me. she is with me even now and will always be mine forever. I can’t imagine life without her. She adds colours to my world . She has been with me in every crest and trough of life. She’s the one who makes me rise again and again no matter how many times I’m knocked down. As every lover is tested and so am i. I wanted to bring this vision into making something for the betterment of the society. But guess what life sometimes is so cruel to you. But, all that life can do is delay my plans. Now not being able to bring this vision into action makes me die a hundred deaths everyday. Every moment my heart weeps and I really want to make this vision happen. Tears have dried up in my eyes and I say I’m alive because I exhibit the basic characteristics of a living organism. Its like every moment someone stabs me with a dagger and I can’t do anything but to resist it with the love that she has for me.  I prefer being alone and darkness seems a very good friend of mine.

But i can’t live without her. I try everyday to gather myself but I successfully fail in it by the end of the day. Here I am standing on the place where there are two roads and the difference I can make out in between these roads is her. Yes I’m gonna get her back into my life and make my vision visible to everyone one day. This is my promise to her that even if GOD wants me to leave her I won’t. I love you so very much sweetheart. There’s nothing in this world that can comfort me the way you do. Even now the way I transcend this situation is by being with her. Why are we punished for a mistake that we haven’t done? Is falling in love with a vision a crime? I vow to bring back my vision amid this world and no matter what no one can stop me from doing this. I dedicate these lines to her “ mujhe kisi se aaj takh isliye pyar nahi hua kyunki mujhe meri jaaanemann ko pyar karne se phursat hi nahi milti”” she taught me everything about life, hope. Her love is like the wind I can’t see it but I can feel it”.NEVER EVER GIVE UP.

Unleash The Fire In You!

Coming to almost the end of my engineering course has always made me realize so much about not just engineering but also life! We all start with dreams of becoming someone we’ve been seeing as our idol! But ,I always felt life has been very unique to me and am sure it is to each one of you! We’ve come to a stage where we are seeing the other side of life, which I’m sure is cruel to us than the most of our nightmares! It just keeps getting harder and harder. Everytime  you tell yourself that this is it , its all over and then something happens that takes you away from what you had really aimed for! We all fight for that spirit inside us that’s of Divine origin and serene in nature!

The next  time when we try  we make sure we’re completely on track for the thing that we wanted the most which involves the common good of everyone and make this earth a better and less bitter place to live in! we strive hard enough  and still our efforts don’t seem enough. Eventually i ended up in the darkest forest i've come across in journey of my life, where I was quite alone! A place where the only help for me was this spark of the divine soul that kept itself alive through the hurricanes that just kept breaking me apart and deteriorating every bit of me! But its on us to make sure that this incredible power is used for its destined purpose  !Believe me or not we all have or will reach a stage where however strong we are we will be torn apart by varieties of circumstances. This is when I want you to look deep inside yourself and dig out the spark that I’m talking about! This spark is the only thing that can get you out of the most petrifying situations of your life! If you are able to nurture this spark and enhance it turning it into a giant fire then it not only  will shield you from the obstacles that come in your way but also burn them down into ashes in seconds. It’s a phase where in even your heart pumps blood to its maximum capacity. Every nerve fights for you and every drop of blood running through your body is trying its very very best to complement your thoughts .But , if you’re concentration moves away from this spark then you’re at your most vulnerable state! Its my deep concern that made me write this post because most of them whom I’ve seen fail gave up! Most of the times it was lack of interest and also the fear of failing! Let me put forth my own principle that I think can help you” the more you fail the greater is your probability of succeeding and the more you succeed the greater is your probability of failing”. So its a warning note to those of my dear ones who are succeeding and I heartily wish them all a great future ahead! For those who haven’t had their breakthrough its time to subvert the paradigm and make sure you’re answerable to God at the end of your life!

The most worrying factors I’ve noticed are laziness and fear of failing! We all are miracles in ourselves ! Do you think  it was easy for for those innumerable characters that we inherit from our parents to fit into one individual? Do you think it was easy for 200000000 sperms to compete among themselves and only one could succeed out of them? The way I understand it we are small miracles in ourselves who are destined to achieve miracles that have never been achieved before! Fear of failing – this is one thing that really bugs me! People who think that what if I fail after working hard and facing failure are at the height of their stupidities! Don’t you see it failure is the only way you can improve! We all want to be better and better with every passing day and we don’t want to face failure which I think is really insane! The next time you face failure proudly tell it” come on I’ve been waiting for you to improve me”. If all of us can display this commitment to excellence then believe me you can make a difference in your lives and also others on a daily basis! Finally if what I’ve said really affected anyone of you then I’ll be glad that I could be of any help! Don’t wait for help or guidance , be your own guiding light and always try and guide others on their ways because it is very difficult to find a guide and those who have the right one are incredibly lucky! If you don’t have a guide then may be its your turn to be the guide! ALWAYS REMEMBER EACH ONE OF YOU IS DESTINED TO GREATNESS IN YOUR OWN WAY! If you've felt something, right there in your heart then please suggest your friends to read this and share it on your walls. Not for me, but for those lives where these words may make a large difference. Even I’m trying to do the same and I wish you all the very best in your lives!

My First Ever Surprise Birthday Party- a long awaited dream coming true!

Well it all started in a melodramatic manner with these "meet me urgently" kind of lines. Soon after the call i rushed towards the place where they had a web waiting for an insect like me! Later she showed me some candles and I paid no attention being a doofus for the moment and TADAAAAAAAA there it was “THE BADMAASH COMPANY” completely loaded with the weirdest ideas of scaring the hell out of me! Time has been equally kind and cruel to me just as it is with all of us(courtesy : kiran v chikaparappa). This moment that these exceptional persons in my life gifted to me will be cherished by me for a lifetime. In this world where people turn against each other for their greed, I’m fortunate to have a bunch of people who I know came together to bring a smile on my face. I always ask my brain if I am lucky and my brain reverts to me with all those that I couldn't have in my life! But surprisingly , my heart tells me the exact opposite making me realize what a life am I gifted with and so is everyone of you who is reading this. Three years in davangere hasn’t been easy for me but hasn’t been tough too because of these friends of mine. I've always dreamed of this and am glad this happened with you guys as the means to it. Thank you for channelizing this pulchritudinous(word for the day: synonym of beautiful) moment into my life .I know that its hardly been a year that I've met all of you, but guys my Endeavour of life has been the one that I can cosset in my life because of you all! I bet none of you knows how incredibly special you are to me! You've gifted me the title of this write up!  Well am glad to have you guys as my friends! Love you all!

THE UNKNOWNS!

I really don’t know how but exploring people at random is something I’ve loved doing the most! Getting to know people because of various circumstances that bring us closer or draw us apart from them.

It may be through anything may be their paintings,  write –ups ,may be their voice. There is a magical gist in this group of people whom I call as “unknowns” that had the power to draw my attention towards them in a way that surely perplexes me . I really wonder how the voice behind a song ,few beats by a musician , few colors in a painting, few braniac tricks, few steps of a dancer, few jokes by a joker and the list goes on…………! I feel there’s no end to it, makes an impact on my mind with such adrenaline intensity!

I hardly know them in sense 100% unknowns seem to make a special place for themselves in  my life.I seem to be occupied with astonishment by the way things have been going so far for me! How someone we aren’t sure of receiving a response from surprises us completely even with a simple sentence! How just a song sung by someone drowns us deep into their voice! How few bold strokes seem to reflect what the person behind these strokes is! how words like colorful free birds fly under the sky of my heart!

I’ve always believed that anything done by a person reflects their mind! I even don’t know what this is! I just am glad to experience this phenomena where these highly gifted minds I call ”the unknowns”  have such a flabbergasting effect on my mind! Some become immensely close while some seem to be major introverts and some on the contrary being major extroverts! Every kind of nature has its own merits and demerits! But studying these unique species called unknowns is something that I’ve been very fascinated about it ! God almighty must be saying “hey fatty, mahn you’re really having a ball with my gifts huh?” really am falling out of words to describe this feeling that’s in my heart!

Dedicated to all those who have impressed me by their work even before I knew their name and details! Its just that anything you do leaves a horcrux(a word understood only by harry potter fans)(for non hp fans “a mark”) of you in your work so better watch what you’re doing! I feel pretty happy to have come across all of you and if destiny wants we shall surely meet one day or the other!

THE MOST FLAWLESS AND MYSTERIOUS CREATION OF GOD!

Well hello people am back with another post.  What i am talking about are undoubtedly WOMEN! Yes ,if you've got it right hi5 on that and if you didn't ,then you guys certainly need some help. A women plays many roles but let me start with the day she's born!  Soon after her birth when she opens her teeny - weeny eyes she becomes the "love at first sight to her parents"! So everyone who doesn't believe in love at first sight ,wait for this moment and i bet it'll be the best moment of your life! Her tiny steps into the home fills it up with incredible happiness! She becomes the only girl her father ever loved after her mom! She becomes the shadow of her mother and the princess to her brother! Even a sweet smile of this moonpie makes her family to forget all the sorrows in the world! After she grows up into a gorgeous queen waiting for her king with infinite dreams in her sensitive little heart , she becomes her mom's best friend! She turns into a care taker of her father!

Coming to marriage, she leaves all that she loved the most and trusts someone to keep her happy throughout her lifetime . Which i think is the height of optimism!"BOWS" for that! Then comes "The Big Challenge" when she accepts strangers as though her family! She takes care of each and every member in the family and becomes "The Most Wanted" person of her family! She has impeccable mind that she considers someone as her mother and father and serves them for her lifetime! She is so dedicated to the family of her husband that she even fails to find time for herself. She bears the pain of having a baby which is the most poignant sign of the amount of patience she has.

She becomes a mother and look at the beauty of this gift, the infant can only feed on her milk ! She donates her life in bringing her children up. She is an ocean of patience. She can turn the barren life of a person into a fertile one!She supports everyone involved in her life! She would die to see her children successful! She can withstand anything in this world and protect her loved ones against all the odds with her love and care.May be there are even other forms of women i may never be able to describe.

Every person who loves and cares for you deserves to be appreciated. Never neglect even the slightest of love and care that you receive from anyone because there are loads of people who don't even know what's it to be loved! So,everyone who has received love and care from anyone ,respect it. With respect to this, i always feel God is present in humans and reaches out to us in various forms . A women excels in most of these forms. So, i just wanna say respect every women in your life because you never know how much they love you! I can't even believe that parents still prefer a male child and female infanticide still exists. "SACRIFICE" is the other face if women is assumed to be a coin. A face of her she'll never allow you to see . This is the greatness of women! I consider myself very lucky to have seen women in the form of mother , sister ,friend and am desperately waiting to see her in the form of life partner!

Its impossible to describe a women in terms of words or in any other form, but its just a try and i'd love even if i failed in it ! PLEASE LOVE, RESPECT AND CARE FOR WOMEN BECAUSE SHE UNDOUBTEDLY IS "THE MOST FLAWLESS AND MYSTERIOUS CREATION OF GOD"!Please share this if it touches your heart!

Most of the boys think its not possible to find a women but as i always say those who experience ,believe and those who don't, wait for their turn! All of you might have heard it too but its my attempt towards respecting women!

"change"- the most dilemmatic word!

I've always been curious to determine what this wicked word "change" means, but haven't been able to figure it out yet ! The most appropriate answer i could think of from all of you is " change is change"! You all might surely be wondering what's with me because i said i've not been able to estimate its meaning!Well in both cases we both are right! Let me see if i can convey to you what is my problem in understanding this word change! Here's a word trap for you"change is constant". The phrase i just  mentioned is not something i've written but something that dazzled me as soon as i came across it!

I am pretty sure that you're now feeling the heat of this word. We change as time changes , as people around us change, as circumstances change ,as thinking changes, as language changes from person to person and from place to place! Ask yourself is it the change that we want! Doesn't this change need to be subjected to some curtailment???You might have often heard that  change is good ,like a writers words changing the thinking of his audience. Music changing the mood of a person. The freedom fighters changed India from a disorganized state to getting it together as a single family!  This world is a toy of people who have the power to change!

On the other hand you can see that somethings in life never change! your parents love for you! Stupid idiotic buddies teasing you. the happiness when you stumble upon your good old friend! The greatest example is nature. The sun rises from the east and sets in the west! water flows from a region of greater altitude to a region of lower altitude..

I personally feel that somethings are meant to change and at the same time somethings are meant to be constant! Analogous to riding a bike, the speed changes but the balance of the bike needs to be constant!roles of some people in our life should always be constant! There is something in each one of us that if changed results in the loss of our genuinity ! At the same time if somethings in us don't change as in when we commit a mistake we need to correct it and for that we need to change ourselves!

life is all about having the right balance of change and constancy! If you don't change you can never improve and if you only keep on changing you will surely loose yourself! Treasure those people who neither change you nor their role in your life! Life for me would be the determination of factors i need to change and the factors that i need to keep constant! So people improve by "conserving yourself"! I dedicate this blog to all of them whose role in my life has never changed, because i know it takes lots of guts to stand this dangerous game called life!

My Non-Blood Related Sister!

well  living away from my family is one big deal for  a boy like me! And the worst part of it was that i could find no one who had the never ending patience to listen to my talks which by the way if imagined to be a music player had only two buttons play and rewind, where a person had to choose one of them. No exceptions!  And the striking feature of this music player is that it can run even without power  symbolizing there’s no end to it! In such a situation where I needed someone who may not be as good as my family but at least a substitute! And here it was my wish was granted by God almighty and  a cute little angelic boon  stepped into my life which  was in severe chaos!

The first time I met her I had no idea that we both would go so far! This incident is certainly the one which I feel everyone  stumbles upon! She certainly is dead opposite to me! She’s not matured but still this wizard solves my most complex problems with her magical wand of love and care! She’s the first one to know what happens to me! She certainly turned my life around from a desert to an evergreen forest! She is the one who knows me better  than myself. A very compassionate soul, a facultative thinker! The most melodious raaga on which the music of my life is based! The only unaffordable gift of my life! And the person whom I envy the most with regards to her is her brother. What a wonderful sister does he have in his life! I sometimes think that she was supposed to be my sister  instead! She’s few of those who can predict my thinking! She showed me what I am! She often tells me that I am very patient but, knowing myself has made me realize that she is absolutely the most patient girl I’ve ever come across because of one thing , she always listens to whatever “ amith -the blabbermouth” has to say at anytime without giving it a second thought. She has exquisitely handled me and the situations in my life in a way that anyone would be amazed to see! She’s given me the love that I could have got if I were to stay with my family!  She is the only reason why I have a sustained life in my “karmabhoomi-davangere”.

I feel proud to say this that even if I had a small sis, she would never be able to play the role of this “compiler” of the program of my life! I know I can never be able to explain what you’re to me, but this is just an attempt towards it which I am sure is no way close to what you are to me! Love you sweet sister and you dare never  ever I repeat ever leave me because I don’t know “ miss practical” if you realize that you’ve become such an indivisible part of my family! I mean it! Be there for me because its you who completes  me and my family! You’re the only compiler  who can debug the logical errors of the program of my life! love you sweetheart sister! Although “the  Indian  society” doesn’t believe in such a concept of “the non- blood related sister” the only sentence that comes to my mind is “those who believe experience and those who don’t ,wait for their experience and then believe”!

my ray of hope- my best friend!

You know its said that everyone has a friend from childhood who turns out  to be the friend for a lifetime!!!! I kinda doubt it . You can say that i got him at an age where everyone was pretty organized in terms of their friends and i was the only one left alone!!!! I believed that its gotta be beyond my expectations because of which i was kept waiting for such a longtime!!! Finally there was a new admission in my class of fifth standard and there he was sitting like an innocent little rabbit very calm, subtle and  pretty much the reserve type boy!!! There was something about him that caught my attention from the day i saw him!!!!!It was friendship at first sight!!! He turned out to be the favorite of the class monitors.

He surely seemed one of the limited editions of the God almighty!!!!What can i say about him,he was slow to get along with me but every step was deep routed in our hearts!!!We loved quiz n cricket!!!!He was pretty passionate about sports and i only loved cricket(the only game i could play easily because i was almost double his size)!!!He started conquering my heart and the world just became a better place to live in!!After penetrating my heart and soul he never looked back. He became the first one to know what i feel. The newest member of my family!!!! The best thing i like about this great boon to me from God is that he always stuck to his words. He never promised me anything that he cannot do. He was a part of my family discussion on my career and not just that was my only support to the choice that i had made for my career( B E in biotechnology)!!! Even now the akki huggi made by his mom is my favorite dish which still makes my mom jealous!!! He is such  a person seeing whom anyone would be jealous with. He is my ray of hope. He is the one who my family wants me to get replaced for and same is the scenario at his home!!!!! You've been the silent support of my life!!! The one who had the patience to listen to my never ending brainiac talks!!! This ones for you-" i love you paape"(bowled you ain't i?)..... my feelings for you are beyond words and beyond expressions!!!!Having you is a feeling i never wanna come out of!!! Even now when we are separated by geographical barrier you're still intact in my heart!!!! Love you my only "ray of hope"!!!!!
